Reuben writes and creates and dances and acts and poeticizes and enjoyinates life and makes up words and plays and sings and does other stuff to entertain you, or at least to entertain himself... And sometimes he does.

Soon you will be able to stream some delicious sounds from this new project here, but until then you will just have to trust that Reuben Anderson with Angela Steeves is a dynamo power couple for the ages! Watch for them to be playing a festival, cafe, Winspear, or open mic near you and you will see for yourself. See or see for someone else's self, if you can!
The 2 songs below this block of text are examples of love songs Reuben has written. The first is obviously about falling in love with a person. The second is a little more subtle in it's love theme, but it's there, I assure you.
The 2 songs below this block are the only 2 covers on the album; a Bright Eyes song written by Conor Oberst and a Warren Zevon song, respectively. It's interesting how songs can take on new meanings for us depending on what's going on in our lives. Download these songs for free. Share them with friends. Share them with enemies. Imagine them as the credits songs in a movie. Or just stream it here, don't let me tell you how to live your life!
A love song for the North Country Fair.
Alberta
Is the first word of
My song about Alberta
And how I love her so
And I know this
If you come here you'll notice
All of my motives
For making her my home
And though I love E-town
I still go down
And visit friends in Calgary
Or see the mountains in Louise
And Red Deer
Ain't too far from here
To play a show
The Vat, you know
They've got a giant Jimi there
I love Alberta
My favourite place to be
I can
Get a job there's always steady work and
This is where we started our band
And where we play out on the weekends
And all the friendly people cheer
You know they really love their music here
And you can always get a cold beer
One of my favourites is a Grass Hopper
Not just because we made it here
And it's cheaper
I like the snow
And even though it's very cold
I've never seen
a better looking evergreen, and I
I love the summers too
It's bright at night and that is cool
We can camp and hike
Or go out late, and ride our bikes!
Alberta
This is the last verse of
My song about Alberta
And how I love her so
Oh how I love my home

The Hijacked Headspace podcast has been one of Reuben's passions for the last couple years. You can hear any and all episodes for free by going to www.hijackedheadspace.com or searching Hijacked Headspace on iTunes etc. Or you can listen to a "not the worst of" episodes here, below.
The show was started by George Shantz and Jamie Merkel and Reuben first appeared as a guest on episode 5, before taking a temporary cohost and finally a permanent cohost position. Thankfully, the episode is much funnier than this description.
In episode 15 Reuben came back as a guest and brought his bandmate Kimberley Macgregor. Fun times were had by all. And will be had by you if you click the play button below.
Jeff Campenot has one full leg. The other leg is half bionic. Safe to say that is the main topic of discussion in this episode. Safe to say Jeff has a good sense of humour about this topic. At least we hope so!
One of the first episodes featuring Reuben as a "cohost" was episode 28 and it featured Reuben's good friends and fellow musicians Cadence and Nathan Burns.
Hijacked Headspace's first stand up comedian guest was Reuben's friend Keith Sarnoski and guess what? It's funny. Well, it's funny to some people.
Acclaimed director Ryan Byrne comes on the show. At least he claims he's a director. Judge for yourself in episode 44: Farts for Oral
Film maker Matt Barrett comes on the podcast and is the first in a string of 4 awesome episodes!
